Don't Feed the Ponies Tipley Hill 2021

A more full-bodied style with lemon rind, elderflower, toasted pine and yoghurt aromas. The palate is rounded and full with soft oak tannin, more rich yellow fruits and a touch of oak spice. 100% whole-bunch-pressed Madeleine Angevine that was spontaneously fermented in stainless steel and then matured in both steel and old French oak for 9 months before being bottled with no filtration.

This wine is part of our new Don't Feed The Ponies range of more experimental wines, a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it's the river that influences how our grapes grow. For every bottle purchased from this range, we'll donate 25p to the Dartmoor Preservation Association to preserve the natural habitat.

Wine Making

A small-batch experimental wine where we matured Madeleine Angevine in a couple of old French oak barrels and put the wine through malolactic fermentation. The wine was bottled without any fining or filtration so expect some cloudiness.
