Sandridge Barton East Field Pinot Noir 2022

This standout Pinot Noir scooped a Gold Medal at the WineGB Awards 2024 — and is one of our new single vineyard wines expressing the unique make-up of our east Field vineyard.

Back in 2023, while blending, we uncovered a few barrels from the 2022 vintage that were simply too good to rush. So we waited.

Spontaneously fermented in stainless steel with gentle extraction, then aged for 15 months in fourth-fill French oak, this is a fuller, more concentrated take on Pinot Noir.

Ripe red berries meet subtle oak spice and a savoury depth, all wrapped in soft tannins and a moreish finish.

Wine Making

Crushed and de-stemmed fruit with an inclusion of 35% whole bunch, fermentation on skins for 10 days with temperatures of ferments between 22-26 degrees with twice daily punch downs, allowing for gentle extraction of tannins and colour. Wine left to settle post-pressing for 48 hours then racked into second-fill oak barrels, where it was left to age for 18 - 24 months.
